Portland Slag Cement (PSC) is made by grinding high quality Portland cement clinker, high purity gypsum and granulated blast furnace slag (obtained from steel plants). Compared to Ordinary Portland Cement, it offers lower heat of hydration, improved resistance to chemical attacks, reduced tendency to crack and better workability during construction. It is suited for all types of general construction works and mass concreting works. Owing to its better resistance to chemical attacks (sulphates, chlorides and alkali-silica reaction) it is the preferred type of cement for sewage treatment plants, hydraulic structures and all types of construction exposed to marine environment.
